Just realized I had Cricket Wireless Broadband for a Year.

I was checking my post making sure they looked good and I saw the date.   The First review I did of Cricket Broadband was in Nov 25, 2008 and Then I went into the A600 Modem on March 5, 2009, which I am still using.  I also did the review of the UM185c but I like the modem better.

I heard some people who have complained about the speed but I am not going to be picky about the speed.  It is quite useful for when you travel.   I do travel from time to time and it has been used while traveling.  I tell you this modem is my only way to access the internet and I have been rather pleased with the service.   I thought this would be a quick post for those who might be thinking about getting mobile internet.   As you can see Someone is still using this after a year of use.

It can be hard to see the site from the outsider perspective because I have an invested interest and can’t be partial. Trying to make a site pleasing to people can sometimes be a big experiment and I would like to get more people to come to my site. I ask this because I want this site to used more and more. Starting next week I will be publishing Three Articles a week which will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and on  other occasions when I am feeling like writing more than that. I however started thinking to myself how I can make this better site! So I wanted to ask my readers this.

No Early Termination Fee’s for me Please!

Earlier this week the FCC Probes the issue of EFT on some of the more bigger cell phone companies. I say great now to see what happens. I can tell you being a Cricket Wireless Customer would be so more cheaper if the FCC told these companies to offer No contracts. This would open up a world of Cell phones for me because the price of a Cell phone in the US would have to drop dramatically.

Why is the FCC looking into EFT problem?

It is simple, several cell companies in the recent past have had Class Action suites alleging that the EFT is to high. We’ve seen Sprint’s Latest suite which comes with a settlement, and AT&T also has one that comes with a Settlement. I am sure if you look around even more you would find several other companies who have had their day in court over the fee’s associated with Early Termination.

Reviewing the Sunbelt Personal Firewall

This all came around because of Online Armor was giving me problems. So I decided to try to try the Sunbelt Personal Firewall instead. So I uninstalled Online Armor and installed this Sunbelt Personal Firewall. Once I had it running, I was amazed at all the options that it gave me!

As you can see when you install this software you get more than what you expected. You get Internet Filtering, Ad-blocking, Block Javascript, Block VBScripts, Block ActiveX, And Block Private Information. The Speed of it is extremely nice, it is really light weight on the system.

The nice thing about this is that you can throw out your other ad-blocking software and make your systems work easier, not having to load up so many programs will help reduce the loading of programs that are required to block Ads and JavaScript, and Even ActiveX. This will help protect your system even more if you are one of those who is really strict with not wanting to run scripts while browsing.

Blackberry and Cricket Together? (*Rumored*)

So I have been reading and talking to a couple of people about the possibility of Cricket Wireless offering Blackberry’s. I thought I would at least throw out the idea and see what people have to say! Here’s what some have said:

I been hearing rumors that cricket will start selling blackberry devices in 2010. If this is true, then it would be possible to use all the regular blackberry apps since it would have a data plan? just like evoke? Can someone shed some light on this? Howardforums.com

I’ve talked to my supplier for Cricket Wireless and they didn’t say “Yes, we will have them.” or “No! We won’t.” over this. He didn’t even say anything major. All I can say is from a source or two that Cricket might have Blackberry’s coming soon. According to another source:

Is Cricket Wireless doing a Rebate Scam?

I have read on the internet and been asked by a few people about CRICKET WIRELESS Rebate scam, Internet. Now I know No company is going to have a spotless reputation. I also know you came here because you have the same questions as others. I must admit when I first heard about this, I was a little shocked. I must say this first before I continue, that I DO NO WORK FOR CRICKET DIRECTLY, but I am Affiliated with them through Cricket Sales. I have had great dealings with Cricket Wireless from the first time I got my UM100C Modem,
A600 Modem and UM185C modem. Now Let’s talk about this a little more, are these people unfairly calling this a scam? I wouldn’t know for sure because I don’t know all the circumstances, I do know Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Time Warner, and Comcast. Have Had their customers who have complained about either being scammed or something just as bad.

Star Trek Next Generation Complete Series

My review of the ER Series.

Inspired by creator Michael Crichton’s experiences as a medical student in a hospital emergency room, ER quickly became one of the most compelling shows of the 1990s, each episode a whirlwind of intense and involving drama, gritty realism, and offbeat humor. So I finally got my copy of The Complete Series on DVD today, and I wanted to talk about this TV series that has been making me love this show from the very beginning. It provides an uplifting and entertaining for the whole family. The character Jarod is one who tries to protect the innocent and defend the weak, and we get to see that every week. it also has a great season plot arch’s each season. we see in each season something new develop or something old show’s up. There have times in the show we get to understand Miss Parker’s attitude and why she can be mean so often. I won’t spoil the show for you so I will just say go buy it and determine for yourself if you like it or not!!

I am a complete Science Fiction buff. So when I saw they were selling the complete series. I already watched this when it was on TV from beginning to end. I loved how they had all this special effects that went with it. So as I was looking around. I found this Set ready to purchase on Amazon. So let’s talk about this:

PACKAGING: 5 “sets” of DVDs gathered in one glossy box keeping them all together. Each Season has its own “set” with the final set being reserved for a number of special features (“making of” documentaries, mostly). The other Special Features as promised in the description of the set here, are scattered throughout the various discs. I wish the glossy box was a bit more sturdy and easier to access the sets (do you open from the left or right? you decide). A minor quibble though compared to the overall satisfaction I’ve gotten so far from this new A&E release.

The Economics of Adsense or Amazon!!

When it comes to which is better and why? Who you consider the most profitable? I would have to say Amazon but there are facts behind this that we must first discuss why Adsense is not as profitable and you would be less willing to use Adsense. If you took into account what you would make with Amazon in one month compared to Adsense. Here are some facts about Adsense that will make you think twice about using it:

• Click Fraud – Yep we know it is there and I talked in great detail about it. You could loose you Adsense account if they suspect your account being used as defrauding their publishers. This means you would loose all that potential income plus what ever you made that month.
• You can only make about 50 cents per click – This is really the Key difference with using Adsense verses Amazon. I am getting on average a month 54 Cents per click!!

How to read MiniDumps

What are Minidumps??

Minidumps are what Microsoft Windows like to use to store all the important information about what you were running, and what caused the problem. It can even show you what drivers and what you were doing at the time to cause the problem, but that sometimes can be hard to figure out with all the codes and stuff that comes along with the Minidump.  If you would like to read more about Minidumps please check out Wikipedia, they could tell you more about it.

How do I read a Minidump??

Microsoft has a tool that will read minidumps and let you try to figure out why you had a Blue Screen of Death and some have it call it Blue screen of Doom.  Most of time when you have a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), it usually means something unexpected happened and Windows can’t recover from it.    Some of the common problems are Memory Corruption, Program Corruption and Hard Drive Corruption.   Although these are not all them you can also have Driver issues, and program issues, which in part is a wide range of possibilities that could of caused it in the first place.
