Reviewing the Wi-Fire 500mW High-Gain USB Wireless 802.11b/g USB WiFi Adapter

Product Summary

The Wi-Fire is a compact, range-extending USB device that enables you to access a wireless Internet connection from up to 1,000 feet away-three times the range of your internal wireless adapter.

The Wi-Fire uses a powerful directional antenna, highly sensitive receiver and proprietary software to find and enhance normal WiFi signals. With it, you can connect wirelessly to the Internet-even at low signal strengths-faster, more reliably and with a more consistently strong connection than you are able to with an internal wireless adapter.

The Wi-Fire draws very little power from your laptop battery. It comes complete with everything you need to connect wirelessly to the Internet. Just install the Wi-Fire Connection Manager, plug the Wi-Fire into an available USB port and you’re ready to start. It can rest on any flat surface, laptop display or flat screen monitor.

I must say after receiving a demo product from Hfield.   I’d like to talk about it some.

What type of distance can I get from this antenna?

By itself you can get a good distance. Some things I tried are seeing if I could pickup the wifi from the hotel or Motel. Most of the time you would have to pay for wireless in your room but would have free wifi by the check out desk or food court. With this I was able to get a good connection to the free wifi. The only problem you will come across is the power. You can buy the USB Y cables to help boost the power out put to help get more gain from farther sources. I also like the fact that i could use the antenna to connect without having to pay anymore for wifi in the room.

How far did I get with this Antenna?

Let me put you to this way, if you have an unobstructed view of of the general location of the router, you could connect to it 800 to 1000 feet away. This is good because you could be in the yard and still be connected to the internet. I found if you can get a close hotel room to free wifi you could use all the time. If you just lounging in the yard and would like to be able to connect and check your email or just chat on Facebook this is an excellent way to use your laptop.

Who’s this made for?

This is for those who like to travel a lot or has a two or three story house that doesn’t want to have to go by a repeater or don’t want to buy two or three repeaters for house. I totally think this is a good product and can provide a way to have access to your wifi without having to worrying about setting up a repeater. So much easier and simpler and it was quick to start using instantly without much fuss!!

I’m tell you that if you buy this you will not be disappointed, it is great to have. Go buy it and decide for yourself.

There can be a multitude of solutions when it comes to a USB port? If you want to discus this more, I encourage to come join the forums and there are more people who can help answer your question besides me. I might miss an idea that someone else might know how to figure out!!
