I just read this on several blogs and thought I’d share the details with you, it seems that Microsoft didn’t know there was a problem with this Bug/Vulnerability.   Computer world has a great article and  says this:

“The updates Microsoft released yesterday do not address this possible vulnerability,” a Microsoft spokesman said today in an e-mail reply to questions, “but I can tell you that Microsoft is investigating these new public claims of a possible vulnerability in Internet Explorer.”

I can only hope that Microsoft fixes this Vulnerability soon, I would take a guess that they will try to get this out on the patch cycle if not they will push it out after.   Some things to remember with IE(Internet Explorer) is only use it with Microsoft Updates.   I also Suggest downloading FireFox and checking out my Anti-virus and Anti-Spyrware Page for ways to prevent from getting a virus.

In the Patch Tuesday update, Microsoft quietly released the patch to fix Windows Vista machine shut problems. This patch should of came sooner.

Update for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista

Install this update to resolve a set of known application compatibility issues with Windows Server 2008. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

This was not a critical update and it seems to resolve so many issues with compatibility.  One thing it seemed to fix on my system has been the shutdown time.  It is now quite fast, it would normally take me 2 to 3 mins to shutdown, now it does it in less than a Minute.   So if you’ve not installed this update please install it soon.   I would like to know if people are seeing the same thing I am.   I’ve found a great resource on fixing it if you are still having problem, it talks about how to check your system performance. Although this is been doing it lately with these programs not loaded or even running, they still seem to cause problems so now I get the feeling it has to do with legacy programs.  This should fix most of the problem with older programs.

Beginning Thursday Dec. 4^th, we will be making the Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 Beta available to everyone through a Customer Preview Program (CPP). The CPP will launch on TechNet and be available to anyone interested in trying out this service pack. The CPP is intended for technology enthusiasts, developers, and IT Pros who would like to test Service Pack 2 in their environments and with their applications prior to final release. For most customers, our best advice would be to wait until the final release prior to installing this service pack.

Yes you heard right, you can get into the Beta of Vista SP2 and not have to wait till April.  Some things to remember:

• It is a Beta
• It will Have Bugs
• It is for people who want to test it out
• It should only be installed for people who need to test it out

Some of the changes that they are going to incorporate into Sp2 are support for new types of hardware and emerging standards that will grow in importance in the coming months.  The complete list of changes can be found here.   I will be testing this out sometime this weekend to give it a full thorough check out.   I will give a report later on this month possibly first part on January I would like to give it a complete test.   To test it out yourself, check out this link for directions on how to download it.

December 10, 2007 (IDG News Service) — Microsoft Corp. confirmed that it has fixed a bug in its online file-storage and -sharing service, Windows Live FolderShare, after users reported that the service was deleting files without user authorization.

Microsoft sent an e-mail to users Friday alerting them that it has fixed a bug that may have “accidentally moved” user files from their original folders into the FolderShare Trash folder, and that users should not delete files in Trash until they ensure that they were meant to be deleted. It also advised users how to retrieve deleted files from the Trash folder.

A copy of the information sent to users has been posted on the FolderShare Web site.

In a Microsoft statement e-mailed by its public relations firm today, the company said it is working with users who have lost files to help retrieve them. It also said that another online storage service that is in beta, Windows Live SkyDrive, was not affected by the bug.

Windows Live FolderShare, which allows users to store files online and then download and synchronize them to and between different devices and computers, is currently available in beta release.

Prior to being notified by Microsoft, users last week had been posting about the strange behavior of Windows Live FolderShare, on a Microsoft online discussion board.

Microsoft also sent out a notification via the discussion board to let users know about the problem and explain how to handle it.

Even after Microsoft said that the problem with moving files to the Trash had been fixed, users on the discussion board were still reporting buggy behavior from the service. Users noted that they were having trouble synchronizing files between computers and locating directories when using the service on Windows Vista.
