Some good CyberMonday Sites to look at for 2008!
Comments OffI was just getting done with that story about the Walmart Stampede, and thought I would encourage people to check these good sites for people to check out for great deals. I have been looking through sites combing for some great sites to find the best deals and here they are:

UPS expected to layoff people also
Comments OffUnited Parcel Service reported a 9.9 percent drop in quarterly profit on Thursday and said it expected consumers to cut back on holiday gift purchases. The company is planning cost cuts, including layoffs, in 2009. It said it expected profit for 2008 to be toward the low end of a range it provided in July.

So that creates more of a demand on Jobs and if you want to hear some other layoffs that I’ve seen on the go, just search my site. Some useful links to check out is:
Mahalo Lay’s off around 10% of it’s workforce!!
Comments OffWe’ve laid off a just under 10% of our full-time staff, cut our overhead by doing smart things like renting desks (we have six desks/offices available fyi), and reorganized our editorial department to focus on freelance positions over in-house editors. The net result
of the effort is we are giving Mahalo another year of “dry powder” (or runway) to complete our mission.
This is not to be unexpected after all the talk about the recession coming our way. It does however emphasizes the need for companies to consider there profit margins and accounting strategy.
Mahalo was launched in May 2007 as an Alpha test. That is to say only a select number of people were able to access the site and create feedback to the development of the site. As of January of 2008 it is in what we call the Beta test phase. Which means more people are testing it out and find out it’s flaws to report back about where they need to improve. Mahalo’s directory employs human editors to review websites and search engine results.
New Screenshots: Halo Wars and Mafia II
Comments Off
Gamercenteronline begged and pleaded and got its hands on three screens for Halo Wars, the real-time strategy prequel still under a TBA release date for this year. One looks like a close crop of a Sparrowhawk that we’ve done before. Not sure what exactly is going on in the other two.Loitering around the site I also found what they touted as a new Mafia II screenshot. You can catch everything after the jump
The Mafia II screenshot is said to be set in DeLuca’s Restaurant, even though this is clearly a warehouse shot. Not sure if that’s a level title or not. But that’s Vito, and it looks like he’s about to waste a competitor.

Go Check out the rest of the photos, I think this looks very interesting but am unsure what they are planning to do with the game long term.
Halo 3: 5 Million Served
Comments Off
So Mass Effect sold a million. For a broken RPG, those are good numbers! Actually, for any game, those are good numbers. They’re nothing on Halo 3’s though. That thing just will not stop selling. Microsoft have announced that the game has sold more than five million copies since launch, which for a console that can’t have more than 15 million units in the wild is as good an attach rate as anyone at MS HQ could be hoping/praying madly for.

Wow So many people like Halo 3, I’ll have to try it out sooner or later!! I do love Halo 2 and Halo!! So Halo 3 has to be good!!
Bungie: We’re already at work on another Halo game, Halo 3 wasn’t the last
Comments Off
Bungie’s Community Leader Brian Jarrard has revealed that Bungie are already at work on another Halo game, but strictly speaking it is not Halo 3 but is based on the Halo universe and is a collaboration between Bungie and Peter Jackson. Jarrard simply stated that Halo 3 was definitely not the last Bungie Halo game. Moreover, he tried to dodge a question about how they would pitch future titles as they are an independent company which suggests that such a title could actually go multi-platform.
quote:
1UP: For all the super fans: does this mean Bungie won’t work on whatever “Halo 4″ turns out to be?
Jarrard: Well we are already at work on another Halo game — I wouldn’t call it “Halo 4″, but it is based in the Halo Universe and represents a collaboration between Bungie and Peter Jackson. Halo 3 was definitely not the last Bungie Halo game.
1UP: And perhaps most importantly, this means we’re going to finally see some progress on Pimps at Sea, right?
Jarrard: Fortunately, Bungie LLC does retain ownership of the Pimps at Sea franchise so anything is possible!
I hope they make more PC console games
