Looking for Science Fiction Movies?? Amazon VOD Has them!!

By Paul | Feb 26, 2010

As many of you know I am an avid Star Trek, Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Farscape, and Science fiction fan. Now you can watch these movies and shows on Amazon. No more will the DVD get scratched, and with the help of the Roku I can watch it on my Television set.

Star Trek VIII: First Contact

Some of the ones you can buy or rent from Amazon Video on Demand are:

Star Trek (2009)
Star Trek: Insurrection
Star Trek: Nemesis
Star Trek VII: Generations
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
Stargate Movie

You can watch and watch until your heart is content and never loose your DVD or scratch them up.    Alone with Netflix I can now watch any Science fiction show and not have to worry about paying for it.   Some series that they have are Star Trek Next Generation, Voyager, Deepspace Nine, and Enterprise series that you can watch and return the DVD.   Although Amazon or Netflix doesn’t have the streaming rights at least you can still watch them for $8.99 a month.   Netflix does have the Farscape most of the series streaming and can be watched on the computer or TV.

Hulu brings Star Trek : Generations

By Paul | Feb 17, 2010

I simply love Star Trek and I am glad they bring this so people can watch it. I am hoping they will bring more movies and/or shows too. It is too bad they aren’t on Roku, but I will bet it will be there soon. If you want to watch other Star Trek Movies you can on Amazon VOD : Star Trek. With the Roku I can watch it on my Television set thanks to Amazon.

Enjoy everyone!

Star Trek Next Generation Complete Series

By Paul | Jan 19, 2010

Amazon Review:

Like in the original Trek, it was in the stories themselves that much of the show’s success is to be found. That pesky Prime Directive kept moral dilemmas afloat (“Justice”/”Who Watches the Watchers?”/”First Contact”). More “what if” scenarios came out of time-travel episodes (“Cause and Effect”/”Time’s Arrow”/”Yesterday’s Enterprise”). And there were some episodes that touched on the political world, such as “The Arsenal of Freedom” questioning the supply of arms, “Chain of Command” decrying the torture of political prisoners and “The Defector”, which was called “The Cuban Missile Crisis of The Neutral Zone” by its writer. The show ran for more than twice as many episodes as its progenitor and therefore had more time to explore wider ranging issues. But the choice of issues illustrates the change in the social climate that had occurred with the passing of a couple of decades. “Angel One” covered sexism; “The Outcast” was about homosexuality; “Symbiosis”–drug addiction; “The High Ground”–terrorism; “Ethics”–euthanasia; “Darmok”–language barriers; and “Journey’s End”–displacement of Indians from their homeland. It would have been unthinkable for the original series to have tackled most of these.

Star Trek Movie Experience — My Review

By Paul | May 8, 2009

I had the chance to go see it Thursday and would like to talk aobut it:

*Spoiler Alert*

We start out with what I will call a Grandfather parodox, Kirk is born in a shuttle craft because the ship was being emergency Evacuation due to battle damage. Anyways Kirk dad is dead and this is where the Paradox comes into play, later in the movie you will hear “Older Spoker” tell Kirk about his dad. Listen hard and you will see where the paradox event comes into play.

Anyways this is the premise of the story, Time travel. We get to see how events unfold from the rebirth of Vulcan to the Kobayashi Maru, and How Kirk Handled the actual situation. We also see Physics come into play with Young Kirk jumping from a moving car and surviving. This however quite improbable but some would argue very impossible, see the link for more understanding.

Superbowl 2009 Ad’s are on HULU

By Paul | Feb 2, 2009

Now I don’t have to watch the Superbowl to see all the ads. The Day after the Superbowl, Hulu releases the ads that were at the half time. So here they are:

So what ones do I like:

Hulu Brings on Paramount Movies!

By Paul | Aug 19, 2008

As you can see Paramount has been seen at Hulu.  I thought I would talk about some movies that I could be coming to Hulu.  So let’s talk about some of them shall we.  I can see so many good movies:

  • Paycheck What seemed like a breezy idea for an engineer to net him millions of dollars, leaves him on the run for his life and piecing together why he’s being chased. full summary | full synopsis
  • The Saint Simon Templar has no real family, no real home and Simon Templar isn’t even his real name. Yet Simon Templar … more | full synopsis
  • Ghost After being killed during a botched mugging, a man’s love for his partner enables him to remain on earth as a ghost. full summary

Autographed Star Trek Phasers, Communicators to Go On Sale Next Week

By Paul | Nov 14, 2007

star_trek_phaser_front.jpg

A serious Star Trek fan and collector died recently, and an anonymous tipster sent us pictures of the Star Trek memorabilia he left behind. Here’s a heads up to dedicated Trekkies everywhere: These items will be appearing on eBay next week, so check out the gallery on the next page; maybe there’s something you’d care to bid on.

There are prop replica phasers, communicators and a pinball machine in the lot, all in pristine condition, and some are autographed by William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and Patrick Stewart. There’s no information about pricing, but these precious artifacts probably won’t be cheap.

Wow I would buy them if i could I love startrek!!

Blu-Ray Laser Phaser! – video powered by Metacafe

Warning: you will not learn how to build a Blu-ray phaser in this video. Oh, you will see someone building one, but only in the, “look how cool I am” kind of way. Still, the prospect is just geek heaven enough to set our hearts aflutter. And when we say “aflutter,” we mean providing us precisely 15 seconds of interest before we move on to the next piece of the Internet. Because while Warhol predicted our 15 minutes of fame, we’ve easily cracked a minute with the rise of embedded video. [blogmond]

Nice I want one!! ;) I will have to find out how to build one!!

Star Trek Home Theater, Go Where No Man Has Left Before

By Paul | Nov 6, 2007

This Star Trek TNG home theater is ubergeek in the absolute best way, which is probably why at CEDIA 2007 it was named the best theme theater installation. Featuring a quasi-faithful re-creation of the Enterprise NCC-1701D, motion activated “air-lock” doors and an alert button producing an alarm and flurry of red LED lighting are enough to keep us entertained even if, say, the theater were only 720p. While the owner wishes to remain anonymous and we lack specs on the complete setup, the piece de resistance has to be one of the largest Kaleidescape hard drive storage systems in the world, with eight servers holding 3,816 DVDs. We’d probably be too busy drinking at the bar full of scifi memorabilia to watch our choice of Hilary Duff films, our minds blown at Robby the Robot hanging out with members of the Federation. [electronichouse]

Wow, I want one of those!!
