So With having the Roku Player I thought I would recommend some great Family Friendly Amazon Videos on Demand. I like having the Roku, and the Video’s because I don’t have to worry about scratching the DVD. So Here are some great picks for Family Movie Night:

Written by Dr. Jekyll

This week I’ll be giving you some good shows to check out on Amazon so Stay tuned!!
It seems in anticipation of the release of Half Blood Prince the Malware authors are starting to send for the movie. For example:
As you can see they really try to fool you into think your are going to be able to watch it for free. They even put it the movie poster to try to get you to click that link. It is on a blogspot page and has a few Google followers, which I am amazed at because what I have found it. If you were to click that play link (usa-top-news.info) it will redirect your to (world-news-scandals.com) and then to the final destination (tubes-portal.com). Each site is surprisingly in the US and tries to look like it is a real site. It sends you a file called streamviewer.40018.exe, which I am surprised AVG hasn’t picked this up so I went to see if this was a virus and Virustotal showed me this:
It seems that it wasn’t a Cross Site Scripting but an PDF exploit that was used to install Scareware but Virus List says it as a Fraudware.
It looks like they were trying to get people to buy fake Antivirus software called “System Security”. It looks like there was a silent download of the PDF and it tried various exploits to get this software installed.
Virus Total has stated that this looks to be the first time, in which one criminal group is looking at making money off of twitter and Facebook. This could be the beginning of the onslaught of these types of things to continue in the next few months to years.
That is why it is so important to have an Anti-virus software and a good firewall to prevent this sort of thing from happening. It is important to note to all who have a twitter account that you will need to start being more cautious when it comes to videos being put on twitter. You May never see another video virus like this or you could see a dozen in one day it depends on how people react to this and try to prevent it in the future. If you think you have the scareware installed that is System Security. I have found the Removal instrtuctions for people who want to get it off your system.
I was doing my usual perusing the internet and I came accross this site about Nikki Catsouras Accident Photos, I won’t go into gruesome details but looks like the Malware Authors are at it again with trying to have you install Fake codecs into your system.
These are some of the nicer picturs on the site
I must warn you if you go to the site there are some very gruesome and disturbing pictures of the accident, but that not what is computer related. On the site they also have a Video that isn’t really a Video. Clicking that video link pops up this in my AVG warning window:
As you can see, the Malware authors are using the accident video to get people to install the Fake Codec to install some Trojan, worm, or even a Virus onto your system. I’ve talked about this from time to time but if you need to install a codec from a site you don’t trust. I don’t recommend this to anyone. I would keep with the known Codecs and keep away from any site that says you will need to install a codec or tries to install a codec. I also recommend some Free Anti-virus and Free Firewall software to better protect you. As you can see the free AVG software that I was using did detect this and prevented me from going any further. So the Free software Anti-virus providers are keeping even the most common users safe.

Just saw this and couldn’t resist talking about it. This would be great on the road. If you use this on a laptop, then you would have some really good channels as you travel on the road. No more having to watch movies on your laptop. You can now see the current events as you travel around the US. With the Digital change over Coming Feburary 17, 2009. You’ll want to have a way to watch TV, this would be one way. Right now Amazon is offering it for 112.22 but that could change so check the link out to find out how much it is.
As you can see that looks to be the final release of the start screen. In the past they haven’t change the start screen, it looks to be really polished and ready for use with Windows 7. If anything, I think the boot screen will be permanent and definitely not temporary. On a Side note, I found this video as well:
This video I almost suspect is the release they did at the Professional Developers Conference and is probably going to have the beta in hand. Although I could be wrong this looks to be almost like Vista? Why is Microsoft trying to make Vista turn into Windows 7, probably due to the fact that Vista had such a rotten launch they are hoping people will see Windows 7 as if Windows Vista didn’t even exist.
I also found one more little Video that looks to be promising, it’s called Windows 7 Super bar. This little Video looks convincingly like this will be kept in Windows 7 but you know how Microsoft is on beta’s. Any how, Here’s this one:
Mike Smith in his last Podcast talked about this subject and why he is really unhappy with Ustream.tv. He says that the ads could possible violate his TOS with Techpodcast Network. He also would like to share the revenue because he was one of the founding podcasters that started to use Ustream.tv. He’s worried that there will be adult theme ads showing on his video stream and that He wants this to be family friendly. He’s said before the show if he has to he’ll go to other networks. Some of the networks that might help him out:
As the time approaches for the live even for Youtube. There are many confirmed and only one I want to see right now. As many people will agree that Mythbusters is the best show on Discovery Channel. They have been confirmed to be there tomorrow.
Some of the major players confirmed to be there are Mythbusters, Soulja Boy Tell’em, Katy Perry, Esmee Denters, Akon, FRED, and Will. I. Am. Now I don’t know all these stars. I do Know Mythbusters and I’ve heard of FRED. I’m just stating who is going to be there.
Then the Obvious question comes to my mind and I am sure this is being asked by everyone right now. Is Mythbusters shows coming to Youtube? I would say from what all is going on with Youtube, they might become a competitor to Hulu. With them adding High Defination Viewing and allowing bigger video to be uploaded. There is no question that Youtube and Google is getting ready to release a major statement, or change there direction. So be ready tomorrow at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST and let’s see what happens.

The price of the unit at Memorex is 269.99$. I think this is a great buy if all you need is a blue ray player. Cheaper than buying a PS3. Although if you want to buy a PlayStation 3 to play games and also watch movies on it that is still a good deal. So why buy this player, this will not play games and keep your happy.
After checking out some of what Google has been doing. I find out that you can now Video Conference for free. That is to say that you can conference with someone on line and do cloud computing. According to Google:
Now I might not a lot but this will be most likely be used in association with the new Google Phone, the G1. So I thought about how this will be used? This will be used in several ways. To keep in touch with family, to make it easier to telecommute and to Video Conference with associates from work. Google Model is “DO NO EVIL”. There is a flaw to this I am sure, this is a Internet Protocol to Internet Protocol connection and in doing so you create so much possibility of a virus getting through. There is no doubt that this is using flash. It also is know to make the infrastructure of a business weak. The Intranet of the business would be compromised. I am sure there are vulnerabilities in this and we will hear them shortly. I’d give it a week or two, remember the problem with Google Chrome and how un-secure it is. These are just a few of what would cause security headaches to all who work in the IT field. I just want to bring that up to prove a point. Google’s mantra isn’t perfect, it is what it is.
Yes they finally released the demo. According to my sources and I’ll quote:
Newell said: “We will be releasing demos for both the Xbox and for the PC. I don’t know what the date is for release on that, though. I think it’s going to contain the first part of one of the campaigns. I think it’ll probably be Hospital but I’m not sure. That’s a decision that Doug Lombardi is making.”
If you want to see the game screen shots you and preview the pictures all you need to do is go HERE. You can also start pre-purchasing Left 4 Dead on The PC and be ready to play when it comes out. Watch the Video from Steam for Left 4 Dead Intro In English. You can also Gift the Game for the Holidays, I would like one to get and try it out so if you want to give me the Gift just send it to me via my email address. According to Steam, you will haveto pre-purchase Left 4 Dead and then the Demo will be available for you a week before hand!! so that is one good thing!! So go buy it and enjoy!!! Also you will need to install Steam to enjoy the demo.
I’m searched the internet for the most relevent videos and wanted to tell people about them so here they are:
Video: Daily Debrief: G1 soon to hit stores
I found some other sources and wanted to talk about them!!
The Daily Wireless also has a review on it on there site. I also found The Boy Genius talks about there review also. They all seem to look favorable to the G1. Engadget also talk about it looking at the expectations of the G1. So far everyone seems to love the G1. All in All, I think the Iphone is in for a rude awakening. There Seems to be a Good Video on what the G1 Can do so I wanted to also add this to my list of Information. This is Coming from Wall Street Journal:
This all seems to be very interesting and I can’t wait to get one in my hands
I was looking on Youtube. I and found this great little video that everyone was watching. It’s call Harold and The purple Crayon. Check it out really cute.
I thought this was really good animation. What do you think? Cute littel animation for kids. I might go by the book at Amazon. Clement Hurd was a childrens illistrator and I think he also made this book also but not entirely sure. Does someone know?
As part of our effort to protect the accounts of AdSense publishers, we have mailed a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to the payment address entered in your account. This PIN must be entered on the PIN Information page before any payments can be issued to you. In the meantime, your account remains active, and you may continue to show ads and accrue earnings.
Well that came unexpectedly, Google actually is trying to protect our accounts now from getting phished and or/taken over by some malicious person. This is called two factor verification**, Something you know and something you have. You can also get verify through your Cell Phone. Here is what they said in my Email:
If your have been having problems with Flash Players stoping after 2 seconds of playing. I have a few ideas to try to get rid of the problem. It used to happen all the time with Vista in the early days. Here’s what I did to occasionally get the flash player to work:
Cleaning out the Prefetch Directory! — Having seen this from time to time. If you have programs startup that might need to be refreshed this will refresh them so that they run like new. You occasionally can get programs that will load in a odd way and this will fix that also.
You want to be more anonymous? — Cleaning out your cache on your browser can sometimes fix the problem. It’s like anything else it can sometimes be corrupted.
Having been blogging for the last few months and years. I’ve learned so much from blogger the platform. I thought I would talk about that in this post. To give those who want to use Googles Blogger platform to there fullest. It is inconsequential to the grand scheme of blogging. It is not enough to just blog it has to be some kind of meaning in it. You have to think of how best can I help people out. It is legal to use fair use. That is why congress has put it into congress.
Fair Usecomes from the idea of using something that is ‘Copyrighted’ and use some portion of it to talk about or as a demonstration. Most people don’t understand that, you can use anything on the web as long as you don’t publish there material fully. I like to us hulu for example. I’ve embedded there videos on my site, and talked about Hulu from time. This last few weeks they had clues out on there site. I started trying to solve the clues they Published to better help figuring out there clues. Although they might consider there promotion as being copyrighted. I used there clues to publish what I considered was fair use. They couldn’t do much other than smile that some one started blogging about there clues weekly because once they published there clues. I had the right to try to figure the clues out. I actually loved doing it.
August 16th, 2008 at 08:52 AM Umm, when exactly did Hulu decide to shut its doors to everyone outside of America? The site’s title is “Watch your Favorites. Anytime. For Free”. I’m sorry Hulu, this is a complete lie, as anyone viewing your site outside of the US is banned from viewing your videos. All the time. So that you know, I intend on writing a letter to Joss Whedon asking that he pull his Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog video from your network and redistribute it to a video site that isn’t run by people who embrace the philosophy “Defective By Design”. That way, the thousands of other people wanting to see this video, like me, don’t have to resort to downloading the thing via the piratebay.
Well, This is something I wanted to discuss for everyone who reads my blog why Hulu isn’t allowing anyone outside of America to see the videos. It’s all have to do with there contracts they have with certain providers.
GPU-Z is a small, stand alone utility designed to give you advanced information about the systems videocard. Linux only: Convert your video files for DVDs, iPods or easily-playable formats from inside your file browser using a simple script. Users of Linux systems running on a KDE desktop just need to download the ffmpegmenu script and place it in the appropriate file browser folder, and a new “Video Encoding” menu will appear in your sidebar. Detailed instructions and download links are at the link below. The ffmpegmenu script works in Linux only and requires a KDE environment, or at least the majority of the KDE tools installed in any desktop.
Good news for those looking for a free solution to unlock an iPhone with the latest firmware version 1.1.1: help has arrived. The latest version of AnySIM now unlocks iPhone’s. More at CrunchGear here.
In the mean time though there are other practical uses for a bricked iPhone, as the video above demonstrates. Namaste to regular TechCrunch commenter Fake Steve Ballmer for the video.
You might have seen the liftoff, but here’s a video of the day we spent in the desert, awaiting the first (and explosively final) launch of the 1/2 scaled rocket-powered X-Wing fighter. I cried a little when it went down. (Turn up the volume, there’s some good dialog drowned out by the din of burning balsa hitting the sand.) Reporting and video by James Lee. I just added more on the event by James:
I was hoping someone would put that up. Fantastic. Go check out the video!!
