Comments OffAs many of you know, I’ve wrote a blog postabout Adsense for Begginers. I wrote this to try to make people see that Adsense isn’t all that bad. I wanted to expand on this and talk about the Dark Side of Adsense.
AdSense is an advertisement application run by Google. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image, and more recently, video advertisements on their websites. These advertisements are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis. Google beta tested a cost-per-action service, but discontinued it in October 2008 in favor of a DoubleClick offering (also owned by Google)

Now we know that Google uses what we like to call a Per Click payment plan, that is to say on occasion you get paid for ratio of page views. It can be 0.05$ or more, I don’t know how they figure it out but I do know there is more to this than what you see behind the Adsense.
PDF Zero Day Vulnerability in the Wild
Comments OffFrom sources all over the internet, Adobe made a sent out a Security bulletin yesterday:
APSA09-01 (Buffer overflow issue in versions 9.0 and earlier of Adobe Reader and Acrobat)
A critical vulnerability has been identified in Adobe Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 and earlier versions. This vulnerability would cause the application to crash and could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. There are reports that this issue is being exploited.
Adobe Plans on patching this March 11, 2009
and According to some other reports are saying:
Symantec Security Response has received several PDF files that actively exploit a vulnerability in Adobe Reader. We are continuing to remain in contact with Adobe on this vulnerability in order to ensure the security of our mutual customers.

Windows 7 — Lighter, Faster, and Reliability. Windows 7 Should boot quicker and faster, and enables cool new interface touch.
Windows 7 — Beta will be available Worldwide on January 9, 2009 and will be available for download on MSDN and Technet. Also it will be available at : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7 For those who want to download it from Microsoft directly.

Viacom might be going to HULU
Comments OffAccording to some of the news post people are worried about Viacom leaving Time Warner. Now Here’s where Viacom might be going digital. What do I mean Digital, I am talking about going to HULU. If Viacom doesn’t sign a deal with Time Warner, that would leave a space ope for someone else like Hulu.
So Viacom isn’t happy with Time Warner, or They want to go IPTV. Some of the Headlines I’m seeing are:

Tools for Virus Removal : The ones I like to use!
Comments OffIn this post I want to talk about virus removal tools that I like to use when I need to remove a virus. Some thing to consider when using these tools are:
Each of these have to be dealt with differently because each requires something different. Like rootkits if you have one installed and know that it is a rootkit you only options are to download some rootkit removers like:
- Sopho’s Anti-rootkit remover – This is good for those more known viruses and can remove several types of rootkits. This isn’t the only one I use, but it is a part of group that does the rootkit removing for me.
- Microsoft Rootkit Revealer – This is good for proving there is a rootkit. I’ve not seen it not detect a rootkit. Most of the time when I find a rootkit from the other rootkit revealers this one actually dos better with information.
- Panda Anti-Rootkit Remover — This one is another one I use when the other ones can’t remove it. Each one does remove certain rootkit differently and works better than the other.

Trojan.PWS.ChromeInject.A is not a Firefox plugin.

A new type of malware designed to harvest web passwords has been detected in-the-wild by BitDefender’s antivirus research labs. This latest e-threat – called Trojan.PWS.ChromeInject.A – is intended to be delivered onto a compromised computer system by other malware for subsequent download into Mozilla Firefox’s Plugin folder. Once installed it gets to work every time Firefox is started.[Via Bitdefender]
The key to this virus protection is just be cautious of where you go and keep all you system update to date to prevent all this from happening. It is also advisable to not have your passwords saved on Firefox, you should use something like Roboform, it is free to download and try. It will encrypt your passwords so if they don’t know the master password then they are out of luck. Roboform is also good for coming up with some strong passwords. Just some suggestions to prevent from people seeing your sensitive data, you don’t want anyone to get that data.

AT&T Inc. joined the recession’s parade of layoffs Thursday by announcing plans to cut 12,000 jobs, about 4 percent of its work force.

So in all today total that is 12,850 people who are going to be laid off. Windows 7 will sport Direct X 10 Compliance!
The new feature is called WARP10, for “Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform,” and it’s essentially a DX10-compliant, software-only rasterizer that was written by Microsoft; it runs directly on the CPU. In a situation where a DX10 app needs to run but can’t find DX10-compliant hardware, it will run on WARP10, albeit very, very slowly. Ultimately, you can think of WARP10 as a “software DX10 GPU” that will exist as a fallback in Windows.[via Arstechnica]

Technorati released today they are going to Lay off 6 people and I will quote:
Unfortunately, this means sacrifices. Technorati’s management team members are taking pay cuts ranging from 15-25% and employees are taking 10% cut. This also includes the reallocation of staff. We’re laying off six employees today – including two executives — and there are two additional departures we won’t replace. These are high performers who have worked long hours to get us where we are now. They’re also friends, and we’re very sad to see them go. They will also be taking pay cuts all through the company. So the recession is hitting them also. I am sure CEO Richard Jalichandra has the company interest in mind. Comments OffI’ve been doing some research on what might be good to use in case, I was away from my home network. I was thinking how safe am I at Starbucks or other places that I might doing my web. So I did a little looking around to see which one I liked and I came to the conclusions that only one I need right now is:
The nice thing about this was the simple installation of the software and how easy it was to set it up. This service is in beta but seems to be really well done with regards to the end users. Comfirmed: DHL to Lays off 10,000 workers!!
Comments OffAccording to The Press-Enterprise has announced all 18 U.S. Hubs will close and that means 10,000 workers will be out of a job. They will keep 3,000 for international business. I wanted to tell everyone about this as soon as I found out.
There is a rumor that DHL might layoff some of it’s employees. About 8,000 Jobs will be announced to tomorrow when they release the earnings report. Now I know very little about this parent company but they have 475,100 employees and that would mean 1.6% of the people would be laid off!!
According to Business Week there Volume have been going down this year.

According to sources of friends close to me, their seems to be a consensus that there will be a major layoff coming from GE. My source is talking about it being a lot of people will be laid off and that it will start happening in the coming weeks.

The Magazine Time, plans to elimate 600 jobs in the near future!

Time Inc., the world’s largest magazine publisher, plans to cut 6 percent of its work force — more than 600 positions — and will revamp the organization in a way that could radically alter the culture at the company.

Now let’s talk about the bigger picture, people are worried and want to get through this with out getting hit hard. So what is true hardship, that comes when you least expect it and want it. I’ve come to the conclusion that it will happen in the best of times. You see most people don’t know what hardship is until it hits them in the square on the head.
UPS expected to layoff people also
Comments OffUnited Parcel Service reported a 9.9 percent drop in quarterly profit on Thursday and said it expected consumers to cut back on holiday gift purchases. The company is planning cost cuts, including layoffs, in 2009. It said it expected profit for 2008 to be toward the low end of a range it provided in July.

Economic Death?
Are we having an Economic Death? If so how could we change that? Is it to Late? In a recent CNN release President Bush talk about the Economic Depression of the US.
And you know what. I am not sure how to feel about this. Should I be worried or do I have any reason to worry? Having said that I like to talk about the problems that we might face if we go into a more economic depression and how might that affect your lifestyle.
Having seen this coming the past year, I have been growing more and more uneasy with the way the U.s. Economy is turning out. Worried about paying bills off and earning enough money for my kids and wife. The typical situation for the average family. If your like me you have been struggling to pay bills and deciding on what is more important. You fixing your car or upgrading your PC/Laptop. Fixing the Adobe Problem!!
Comments OffIf your have been having problems with Flash Players stoping after 2 seconds of playing. I have a few ideas to try to get rid of the problem. It used to happen all the time with Vista in the early days. Here’s what I did to occasionally get the flash player to work:

Cleaning out the Prefetch Directory! — Having seen this from time to time. If you have programs startup that might need to be refreshed this will refresh them so that they run like new. You occasionally can get programs that will load in a odd way and this will fix that also.

You want to be more anonymous? — Cleaning out your cache on your browser can sometimes fix the problem. It’s like anything else it can sometimes be corrupted.

Some Important programs to prevent yourself from having viruses and Malware!! — Having seen this with my own two eyes, if you have a viruses or malware on your system that too can cause problems with playback of flash media. So just double check making sure you don’t have any viruses.

Living the Life of a Blogger 101
Comments OffHaving been blogging for the last few months and years. I’ve learned so much from blogger the platform. I thought I would talk about that in this post. To give those who want to use Googles Blogger platform to there fullest. It is inconsequential to the grand scheme of blogging. It is not enough to just blog it has to be some kind of meaning in it. You have to think of how best can I help people out. It is legal to use fair use. That is why congress has put it into congress.
Fair Use comes from the idea of using something that is ‘Copyrighted’ and use some portion of it to talk about or as a demonstration. Most people don’t understand that, you can use anything on the web as long as you don’t publish there material fully. I like to us hulu for example. I’ve embedded there videos on my site, and talked about Hulu from time. This last few weeks they had clues out on there site. I started trying to solve the clues they Published to better help figuring out there clues. Although they might consider there promotion as being copyrighted. I used there clues to publish what I considered was fair use. They couldn’t do much other than smile that some one started blogging about there clues weekly because once they published there clues. I had the right to try to figure the clues out. I actually loved doing it.
